How
is it done?
Property
Assessment: I
personally walk and map the property to establish deer/turkey movement
patterns based on food, cover, terrain and structure.
Wildlife
Survey (Where required by
client): Survey animal behavior patterns, population size,
social structure and sex ratio.
Habitat
Enhancement Recommendations:Improvement of food sources and
structure,
opening
and creation of travel corridors, ect.
Implementation
Recommendations:
Suitable
hunting strategies to be employed for all segments of the hunting
season.
Stand
placements
Creation
of travel corridors by means of structure changes to enhance
deer/turkey
movement near stand locations.
An important point:
Geographical
hunting structures/strategies based on structural and instinctive
deer/turkey travel patterns are a
constant that can be capitalized on for hunting purposes for
generations to come.
What do I need?
For
this service I require an aerial photo and a topographical map of
the subject area with all property boundaries outlined. I initially
walk the property alone, then after evaluation I walk it with the
landowner and explain my findings, hunting choices/strategies,
reasoning and recommendations, etc.
Fees
Consulting services cost $500. per day plus expenses, with a two-day
minimum dependent on the property size. I average approximately 200
acres per day for evaluation. i.e. a 400 acre parcel requires two days
walking plus a third day evaluation/walking with the landowner.
Therefore, $1500. ,plus expenses, for total evaluation.
Costs can be
divided amongst hunters/owners. Length of time/costs are dependent on
the percentage of huntable acreage. Geographical hunting
structures/strategies are a constant that can be capitalized on for
hunting purposes for generations to come.
The
Economic
Option
This
service is also available in a more economical option via standard
mail or e-mail. I would require, in addition to an aerial photo and
topographical map of the subject area, information about agricultural
and other preferred food sources available to wildlife.
After
careful study of the map/photo and supplied additional
information I will mark likely stand sites on the map/photo and provide
a written report of likely tactics to use.
As a matter of fairness, please be advised that this option does not
provide the same accurate results as a personal visit and evaluation of
a given hunting area does.
